Irish music and dance have always been a part of Irish life and, at English Language Ireland, we incorporate these into our Leisure Programme. Students learn basic Irish dance steps and participate in regular ceilidhs (irish dance evenings). Traditional Irish Music sessions are available on different evenings in the local hotels and pubs. Carlow's Cineplex shows all new release films, while theatrical, musical and choral groups are showcased regularly in Carlow's new VISUAL - George Bernard Shaw Theatre and CEntre for Contemporary Arts..
Walking and cycling are fun ways to enjoy the great outdoors and take in the beautiful scenery of Carlow and its surrounding counties. Carlow is home to some of Ireland’s key national walking routes – the Leinster Way, the Wicklow Way and the (riverside) Barrow Way.
County Carlow with its rich Celtic past is steeped in historical and archaeological artefacts, including many castles and field monuments.
